Overview

Erin P. McGonigle is an attorney practicing in Swift Currie’s litigation section. She represents businesses and insurers in a variety of matters pertaining to automobile litigation, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, commercial litigation, sexual abuse, subrogation and trucking litigation, as well as premises, products and professional liability.

Erin has extensive experience working with government agencies. Previously, Erin practiced at another Georgia law firm, where she defended government officials in civil suits. Prior to beginning her legal career, she served as a policy fellow at the Office of the Governor, presenting legislation to Governor Nathan Deal and his senior staff. Additionally, she worked as an elections liaison for the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office and a judicial assistant for the Fulton County Superior Court.

A Georgia-certified arbitrator and mediator, Erin is able to view cases from all angles. She leverages this skill to her clients’ advantage to employ optimal strategies to achieve their desired outcomes. As a first-generation college and law school graduate, Erin’s innate determination leads her to apply the same results-driven mentality to solve complex problems with effective solutions and successfully resolve cases on behalf of her clients.

Erin is committed to openly communicating with her clients throughout the life of a case to keep them up to date and answer any and all questions. She does not just take the time to study the facts of the case, but develops relationships with her clients to better address their concerns and help them reach their goals.

Erin earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law. While she was in law school, she interned for the U.S. Department of Justice and clerked for the Honorable Charlie Bethel at the Court of Appeals of Georgia. She also received her B.A. in digital and broadcast journalism from the University of Georgia.

Interests

Erin leads game nights at assisted living facilities across Atlanta and participates in initiatives that help bolster services, health care and education in rural Georgia.

With a love for adventure, Erin enjoys wilderness and backcountry hiking and rock climbing, and she has even snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef.
