Swift Currie Associates Receive High Honors

Swift Currie is pleased to announce that associate Marcus L. Dean has been selected by The National Black Lawyers Association as one of its Top 100 lawyers, and associate Kate B. Hicks won the 2017 Best Brief Writing Award given by Scribes, The American Society of Legal Writers.

Marcus practices primarily in the area of coverage and commercial litigation, specifically arson and fraud and insurance coverage claims. He graduated from the Charlotte School of Law in 2013, magna cum laude, where he was an editor of the Charlotte Law Review, a member of the Moot Court Board, a member of the Order of the Crown Honor Society, a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor society and a Property Law teaching assistant.

Ms. Hicks practices primarily in the area of coverage and commercial litigation focusing on insurance coverage claims. She graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2016, cum laude, where she served as the Executive Notes Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and competed for the school's moot court team. Prior to attending law school, she spent two years working as a political journalist in Washington, D.C.
