Mark Goodman Speaking at SBWC 2024 Regional Educational Series
Swift Currie partner Mark Goodman will speak at the SBWC 2024 Regional Educational Series. The series will take place over four dates across the state of Georgia.
The Honorable Ben Vinson, Chairman of the State Board of Workers’ Compensation, along with Board Directors, Honorable Frank R. McKay and Honorable Neera Bahl, and Executive Director Delece A. Brooks, will visit select cities throughout Georgia as part of the 2024 Regional Educational Series. Under their leadership, the Board will host four in-person seminars providing valuable information for employers, insurers/self-insurers, human resource and risk managers, insurance claims adjusters, rehabilitation specialists, medical service providers, case managers, workers’ compensation attorneys, paralegals, and other Workers’ Compensation system participants.
Mark Goodman will moderate a panel discussion titled "Blackjack or Bust: Workers’ Compensation Defenses," a panel discussion with active audience participation analyzing some of the common (and uncommon) workers' comp defenses that are available to employers. These defenses include fighting, intoxication, going to and from work, idiopathic falls and more. Through case scenarios, the panel will highlight those defenses which are a “21”, and others that are a bust!
