Anandhi Rajan and Crystal McElrath Speaking at NBI: Human Resource Law from A to Z
Partner Anandhi Rajan and attorney Crystal McElrath will both speak at the National Business Institute's (NBI) Human Resource Law from A to Z seminar on Feb. 26, 2019.
McElrath will address two topics: "Workers' Compensation Basics" and "FMLA and Other Leave Issues." Her first presentation of the day, "Workers' Compensation Basics," will cover essential policies and protocols to have in place, determining reasonable accommodations for injured workers and issues with workers' compensation insurance. During her second presentation, "FMLA and Other Leave Issues," she will discuss the FMLA, ADA and their interconnection; laws governing military leave; creating effective leave policies; and solving complex leave issues.
Rajan will follow McElrath, presenting "Controlling Unemployment Compensation Costs." She will examine general rules on who is entitled to unemployment compensation, key information to present regarding the initial claim, when it is important to fight an unemployment compensation claim, what you need to know about the hearing process and traditional ways to manage unemployment compensation costs.
The two-day course will give an overview of all of the "hot-button issues that every HR professional should know, not only to avoid lawsuits, but to ensure that all employees are happy and productive." This seminar is intended for attorneys, presidents and vice presidents, HR personnel and accountants. It will be held from Feb. 26-27, 2019, at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson.
