David Atkinson Presenting at APCIA and NAMIC Symposium on ALI Restatement of the Law, Liability Insurance

David Atkinson will address the ALI Restatement of the Law, Liability Insurance during the regional symposium hosted by American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) and National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) on Jan. 21, 2021 from 1-2:30 p.m. EST.

Atkinson, alongside additional presenters, will review important cases in targeted states where the Restatement has been cited, as well as conflicts between existing state law and the Restatement’s provisions, including rules regarding:

• Insurer liability for conduct of the defense/negligent selection of counsel
• Reservations of rights & estoppel
• Duty to defend and recoupment
  
• Duty to make reasonable settlement decisions

The event will focus on the law of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina and South Carolina.
