Case Management & Rehabilitation Session: Legacy Claims: Anatomy of an Epidemic – Aug. 27, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
The panel, comprised of professionals who have successfully weaned injured workers off of opioids, will address the opioid crisis and the importance of early and interdisciplinary assessment and treatment for “old” claims, as a way of improving the health of the patient.

Legal Session: 12 Angry Men – Aug. 27, 9-10:30 a.m.
This session provides a legislative and case law update to cover cases decided by the Supreme Court of Georgia and Court of Appeals of Georgia in the last 12 months, along with a discussion of 2019 Georgia legislative changes.

Ethical Considerations in Workers' Compensation Session: No Way Out . . . or Finding the Ethical Way Out – Aug. 28, 11-11:45 a.m.
Panelists will share insight into areas of workers’ compensation where rules are bent or broken, including legal ethics, insurance fraud, transitional work/faux job and discovery abuse.
Phillips, along with Briggs Peery and Mike Rosetti, served as members of the 2019 conference Steering Committee.
The conference will be held from Aug. 26-28 at the Hotel at Avalon & Alpharetta Conference Center. Employers, company benefit administrators, insurers, claims professionals, risk managers, HR, case managers, medical providers and attorneys and paralegals for employers are encouraged to attend.
