Attorneys Alex Ficker and Karen Lowell will present "We Need to Level with You: Understanding and Dealing with the Different Levels of Employers and Employees to Mitigate Your Exposure" on May 16, 2019, from 1-2 p.m. ET.
Ficker and Lowell will guide attendees through properly identifying and understanding the players in a workers’ compensation claim, which is often one of the most overlooked and underestimated aspects of claims investigation. Resolving whether an employee is an “independent contractor” (in deed rather than just in name), whether the employee is legally documented and where the employer fits in the often confusing chain of employment can determine your best approach to the claim. This webinar will address how identifying these roles can go beyond the initial investigation and assist in formulating and implementing strategies for mitigating exposure on ongoing claims, particularly with regard to return-to-work issues.
The webinar will offer one general hour of continuing education credit for attendees registered with the Georgia Department of Insurance.
