Sara Alexandre authored an article discussing whether confidentiality protections arising in the mental health counseling setting extend to voluntary peer support groups for the Suicide Awareness Program hosted by Chief Justice's Commission on Professionalism.
While lawyers may obtain mental health services from a variety of providers, not all types of treatment are afforded the same scope of statutory protection. These considerations may be important factors for attorneys when determining which setting best suits their needs.
The Suicide Awareness Program will be held on April 30, 2021, from 2-5 p.m. Eastern.
